Dan Snider, a man of strong faith who was committed to his family and
helping others, died on Sunday December 6, 2015. He was a long time member of
St. Joseph & Sons, which began with his first trip to Haiti to work at a
Catholic school over 10 years ago. His unique skills were put to work as he
assisted in building a playground, remodeling their kitchen, rebuilding the
science lab and many other projects. There was never a problem on a jobsite
that Dan couldn’t solve. His skills were complimented by his sense of humor
that always brought a smile to the faces of those around him.
Over the past 5 years, St. Joseph & Sons has directed its efforts to
projects in the Diocese of Rockford and Dan was actively involved. His contribution as a Joe included projects
at many parishes, Bishop Lane Retreat Center, St. Elizabeth Center, and Corpus
Christi Monastery of the Poor Clares. His
woodworking and project management skills were a great asset to our team. His
active involvement in our monthly meetings and contribution to the discussions
during our spiritual development was appreciated by all Joes. Dan and his wife,
Sheila, regularly attended our SJ&S celebrations. Dan was well known for his positive attitude
and many talents.
We will miss him and his contribution to St. Joseph & Sons, but know
he will be assisting us from his new position with the Lord and St. Joseph!
